Subject: Stem splitting, what are my chances ?

My 2114 wallace,at 12 ft out- dap 11 is splitting the stem ,from the vine to the pumpkin (length wise) I know sometimes they still make it ! But is it more rare to make it?? Or 50/50 chance or what ?? There is another at 16 out- DAP 5 i will be keeping my eye on !!thank you !!!

Don't panic, that kind of splitting is just growing pains and should be fine and they will heal up.

I've noticed that splitting before like clockwork when we get cold nights around the first week or two after pollination. It doesn't normally develop into an actual stem split.

Check this out, I´ve had similar things happen in the past, but since I have seen how well the plants and fruit and stems can cope with that kind of splits, they won´t cause me any sleepless nights.

THanks guys !!! Its day 14 and it seems ok so far, its looking good at 32 inch circumference !!
