I started a brew yesterday afternoon. Today I came home and garage smells terrible ( coming from brewer). Same thing happened to me last year when I brewed a batch, so I disposed of it. Can I use this or should I toss it? Any inputs greatly appreciated.

I'd toss it...it should smell earthy. Do you add enough molasses?

Are you putting enough air into it? The foul odor may be from anaerobes.

I'd be disappointed if my compost tea I am using didn't have a bad smell. I feel the smellier something is, the better it is. If you're following the product's instructions, you should be ok. I have to use my compost tea between 24 and 36 hours after making it otherwise it goes anaerobic.

Thanks everyone. I think the smell is from the touch of neptunes fish and seaweed I put in there. I just looked and am getting some real good foaming going on, so I think the airflow is ok.
