Second year grow coming up and I purchased myco to use on top and at bottom of each node when burying vines. I think I have read references to other things different growers include in their mix. Anybody care to share, or is this top secret info. LOL I have kelp and will add that in too if it will help in that situation. Also, what about these humic and fluvic acids, can these be included? About how much do you put on at each node? Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

i mix my Pumpkin Pro with Jobes Organics All Purpose or Espoma Starter Plus. These have organic fertilizers, not real strong, along with different species of myco and beneficial bacteria. And I usually spread some in a trench so the roots get to it right away and as they f=grow out. Now I have only grown 2 over 1000#, but it has increased my pumpkin weights by 3-% or so.

I was wondering about some type of fertilizer, but was afraid of burning. The organic ferts are less likely to burn if I get too much?

Hollands Giants has an organic fertilizer for burying.I think Wow starter packs are being used by some people. I use Myko and Azos and may add calcium boron and magnesium this year

You don’t need to use anything under your leaf nodes if you don’t want to. Just ask Steve Geddes! There are many ways to grow giants none are incorrect or are the best way. Do what you feel is the right way for you and most of all enjoy what you are doing and don’t put to much stress on yourself as the weather and many other things that pop up will do that for you!!!! This hobbie can easily be a super expensive project considering the prices many products cost or you can make it much more affordable for you and still compete with the best. As one old smart grower used to say and still does the harder you work the more luck comes your way is quite true in this great hobbie. It takes an enormous amount of time and hard work to grow just one plant multiply that by 5, 6 or more and most growers would not be up to the task to handle such a load, some do and they usually have the best luck each year!!!

I understand totally. Last year I had two plants and by the time vine burying was over I swore never again, yet here I am. LOL Putting all my eggs in one basket this year with only one plant with twice as much space as last year. I'll start two, but cull after pollination. Yes, a person can get alot of money into this hobby. I am keeping pretty close track this year and will certainly be hiding these figures from my wife.
