Hey guys
Is Dave on this message board?
or does anyone have an email address for him?
I'd like to ask him about his hydroponics.
Thanks

Dave here. Sorry for the late reply. Just logged in for the first time this year. What's up? ( By the way, years ago had a friend who called me SuperDave, so I like your ID)

Good to see you online!
I'm also growing hydroponic giant pumpkins!
Just curious to know what nutrients you were using and what kind of system?
I've been using a bathtub with gravel for the stump and then channels with gravel for the secondaries, flowing water from the top and gravity fed back to the reservoir.
Dutch master Grow for the nutrients, topping up with some p k.
Just hoping to learn how you've been doing it.
I grew a 684lb in 2017(disqualified...rot) and a 536lb this year, which won at the pumpkin festival this year, but I'm looking to go bigger and better.
thanks

Cool set-up. Where there is a will, there is a way.

Congrats on your great results.

Nice set-up and great results from a small plant (sq. ft wise). I mix my own nutrient solutions, including trace. I built my own systems. Some strictly aeroponics, some a variation of the Ein Gedi system, depending on the plants. My stock tanks are 3000 gallons each. If you want to give me your email info I can go into a little more detail and maybe help you avoid some major pitfalls I've learned about the hard way over the years.Hydro/ Aero is definitely the way of the future, but there are some major hurdles to get over first. Best of luck!!!

Yes its only a small plant, I'm not really able to let it get full size because of the size of my backyard.
I know what you mean about those hurdles! I've certainly discovered some on the way! I'm keen to know what hurdles you had! atm I'm looking to buy nutrients,I've been emailing the commercial places, but I do know someone who might help me with a dry nutrients.
I'm keen for all the info I can get! Thanks for getting back to me.
