            | Jordan Rivington (JRO) | Windsor, Ontario, Canada | If/When you till the cover crop under, how will this affect the myco colonies? | 2/6/2009 8:45:45 PM |

            | UnkaDan | | shallow till, 2-3" is enough to incorporate and make use of the green manure
if you are worried about compaction in the lower area, then you need to sub soil

            | Milford | milford, CT, | Since I have a small patch I can't use a subsoiler and tractor..but I use a pitch fork and just fracture(don't flip over the soil) @ 12 inches down...It's a lot of work but for me I think it paid off when we got 8 inches of rain in one episode and my patch drained well.I also think this helped keep the myco colonies that were left somewhat intact instead of totally disturbing them. I am looking to buy a Broad Fork ...it would make this process a little easier. Mark | 2/6/2009 10:11:48 PM |
