On another message board I read a post concerning willow water as a natural rooting hormone. Anyone else hear of this? Anyone out there ever try it?
  thanks, owen

I have never tried it Owen, but I have heard of it from a professor of mine while up in Canada for a field Botany class. Dont really remember much of what he said on that point however. But I have heard of it.

Really cool article. May need to try this on a plant.

I have used willow water as a rooting stimulant. Works quite well. Never tried it on pumpkins though.

yep...we use willow water to start cuttings. I don't think the natural hormone in this would be much help for pumpkins.

My grandma used to use willow leaf tea. A bucket full of leaves sat close to her early plantings. A half cup here and a half cup there. She may well have had some manure in there too. I was to young to take note.
