I'm definitely growing the 1295 Jutras in 2010, though after reading this post, I was left with some precautions.

Is the non-heat tolerant genetics permanently in all 1295 seeds, if so, the 1295 has no chance in the 100F+ heat here. Or did ya just get da bad seed?
Thanks. -Jordan.

Jordon, Not sure really why the leaves burnt easy, but the plant didnt stand the heat very well at all even when it wasnt that hot out. It was a beautiful plant though and grew just as well as my other plants did. It could be because the seedling wasn't in the best patch soil (more clay) compared to the ''good'' soil where my competition plants was, but I do know I didnt have that problem at all with my other plants that same year .
And to tell you the truth Jordon ,since then Im not to much of a believer in climate bread seeds, or seeds that do better in hotter climates. The way I look at it is, if the plants have a good root system the odds of them holding up better in the heat are much better then plants that dont have a very good root system. The more water that your plant gets the better it will hold up in the heat. But this is just my opinion, other guys do believe in climate grown seeds, but I dont buy into that theory.

I don't belive too much in the climate bread seeds either, though there's still proof of it in seeds such as the 275, which does extremely well in hot temps.
Though I do take precautions during planting time, I usually plant 3 plants side-by-side, once the lower 2 die off I keep the strongest one. It could be proof of climate bread, which is probably why I ended up with 275 Van Hook, 1017 Rondeau, and 498 Van Hook as my main plants. These 3 pumpkins were all grown in warmer climate...
