What is the difference between Open, Self and Sibb when documenting a cross? Thanks.

Hey Chief G, I'm responding more as a one time neighbor from Shirley, MA than an expert. I hope you are surviving this winter. I still have family out there and here it has been harsh.
I believe it is Open is just letting the Bee's transfer pollen from whatever flower they were in last. Self is when you pollinate with a male flower from the same plant. Sib I guess would be if you have 2 of the same cross growing and pollinate one to the other.

Just a little clarification. Sib would be a cross between two plants that grew from seeds from the same pumpkin. Such as growing two 1370 Rose plants, and pollinating the female of one 1370 Rose plant with the males from the other 1370 Rose plant. This may be what shaker meant, but his explanation left the possibility to interperate something such as: 707 Toftness(846 X 723) X 842 Eaton(846 X 723) being a sib, which would be incorrect.

Nothing more to say!
Just the cross of 707x842 is very interesting ;)

Doug provided a great explanation on the "sib" and Shaker...consider yourself an expert!
