Hey Eddie, I crossed it last year with a 670 Daigle. If you look at the family tree, They have no common ancestors. I'm looking for a vigorous plant and big orange heavy pumpkin out of it. I have your 1450. I want to put it in your hand next Friday night

Iceman, I have no 1450, but I do plan on growin the 1068 Papez, and I will (hopefully)have 1450 pollen available,(long drive, but worth it) and that is what will be the pollinator for the 1068 Papez!!! Curious of yer opinion, if which one would or could be the better mother or father....would, or could it make a difference?? Peace, Wayne

Wayne, that's a good question, never thought of that till you mentioned it. After looking at both sides of both seeds, the 1450 may have a slight edge, and because it has proven itself, but who knows, so if the 1450 is the dominant, then I would want it as the pollinator, but if your growing both, I don't think it matters, so after all that, PAP help, lol Eddy

Eddy, I am not growin both, my only option is for 1450 as a pollinator!!! Also, not quite sure how you can compare them at this point...1450 has had a year in the dirt already, and 1068 Papez has not. And, I guess I just answered my own question....no way to know, yet!!?? AND I think you nailed it...PAP help!!!!! LOL Peace, Wayne

i only have three seeds left so im doing the next best thing. im planting a seed from joe jutras 1,300 plus pounder of last season (1450 x 1068 ) and will cross with this years 1450 pollen into the jutras plant . then ill pollinate the 1450 with that 898 if she goes
its all a crap shoot anyway

was the 1068 Papez sibbed or selfed? If it was sibbed what did Andy grow off his sibbed plant? I thought it was selfed?

I think the 1,450 will get lots of action again this year! As for crosses one never knows which will be the best way for a cross just do the best you can and hope for the best. We used the 1,450 most as the main pollinator but when it came time for the 1,450's turn what at that time was as goo as the 1,450. I think ether way you will be safe and should be a great producer of big heavy pumpkins. I do see a sib cross in the future and Wayne the 1,450 clone that grew the 1,018 looks great! High expectations in 2008 Growem big John

Im crossing the 1450 x 998 Pukos,...or 1450 x 1407 Wolf...or 1450 x 1041 Mckie. I'm leaning toward 1450 x 998.
