Here is a pic looking up at some Tehua maize from Mexico. Since they are tipping over, my best guess is that the plants are somewhere between 23 and 24 feet. They will probably end up being the tallest plants in my garden this year. Both plants have many leaves at the top. I believe there are at least 6 leaves at the top that have not extended. There are no signs of tassle anywhere on these plants. They are tipping over quite a bit. The top of the plants are approximately 10 feet away from the base of the plant. I have them tied to the garage gutter and some ropes attached to some stakes. I'm leaving them like this because it's helping them get through the windy days not being straight up in the air. This race of maize grows at a snail's pace; so it's depends on when we have our first frost on how tall they will end up.
