The amaranth are getting close to over taking the corn. Tallest corn along the back of the house is probably about 23 feet. The tallest amaranth is probably a bit over 22 feet, but it's still growing. The really tall maize in the background is Tehua from Mexico and it's tipping over pretty badly. My best guess is that those plants are about 23 to 24 feet tall. There are still a large number of leaves (up to 6 to 8 leaves) at the top of the plant that have not extended and they still have not put on a tassle yet. They grow like snails though; so I don't know what to expect from them. It all depends on when I get my first frost.
