This seedling came from a seed from Moe Hunter's 800 from last year. Just below the leaves is a smooth "gob" about the size of a pea. Coming out of the bottom of it is about a gazillion root stubs. I don't know if this is a genetic mutation, or if it happened because I soaked the seed in Schultz's Starter-Plus root stimulator. This happened to two different seeds. A third seed that wasn't soaked at all appears to be germinating properly at this time.
