I am a first year grower who can't find a good way to germinate seeds. Over the winter months I would like to try and find a fast, effective method of seed starting. Could some people PLEASE send me some "junk" seeds, like from "tiny" pumpkins to use as test seeds? I would appreciate this very much.

Try this link. It is very instructional. If you are anything like me, you will want to over-water the seeds; don't do it! Barely moist gets the radicles out. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=66 I somehow lost my seed collection, so I can't send you any of my own seeds. However, you have a great chance of getting some from other growers here.
Judging from your post, it sounds like you are rolling into winter right now. Do you live in the southern hemisphere?

Byrd, send me an email. I'll send you my address. Just send me a SASBP and I'll get some test seeds out to you.
