            | Stan | Puyallup, WA | I had nine out of ten seeds germinated this Spring. Would you like to guess which one did not? The Daletas 783 for which I paid over $200! :>( I gambled and lost! | 5/3/2004 10:37:11 AM |

            | Rancherlee | Eveleth MN | how long did you let it try to germinate? I've got one right now thats past the 96 hour mark and its JUST starting to grow the radical(so another 2-3 days before it pops thru the soil), my other 3 plants are already popping out of the soil. | 5/3/2004 10:48:57 AM |

            | 5150 | ipswich, ma usa | My 783 was also the last to pop out of the nine I started. I took almost four days to show sign of any life.

            | BenDB | Key West, FL | Mine was the first to germinate. | 5/3/2004 1:54:40 PM |

            | Tom B | Indiana | Sorry to hear that Stan. When something of mine doesnt germinate, I just figure it didnt go for a reason(723 in 2001) So far this year I am 39 for 40, and the 1 that didnt go I knew was hollow.

The reason is "unknown" to me....so, I'll just plant another one of my own seeds. :>) Now if it goes 1100#, then I'll know the reason!

            | the big one | Walkerton Ont | I think thats the case with me too. I planted one of my seeds this year and its growing like a weed. Its going to be a good plant i know it

            | docgipe | Montoursville, PA | I was leaning towards someone else's seed but it failed. Now we are watching two of my own...One will earn the right to go on within a few more days. Hee Hee I shall get to cull me own. I'm having to work up to that decision. :) | 5/3/2004 10:38:46 PM |

            | Great Pumpkin | Enumclaw WA | I had a record 7 days before my first seed germinated. A 966 Holland. I had it in temp and humidity controlled conditions too.... and filed the edges as well. I paniced and started another batch of seeds, now they are all up.Oh well, I good problem to have, but I don't have room for everything so I think I'll double plant each each site and keep the best.
I like how mother nature ultimately makes some of the decisions in this sport/hobby/obsession.

 Happy Growing
