Anyone else finding this seed a bit stubborn ? i soaked it 2 hrs then into seed starting mix, kept at 85-88* I carefully checked it at 36 hrs & a few times after!! No luck so far, the 200 $ im not so worried about its just i wanted to grow that seed !!

Even at 85-90, 72 hours is the magic # for me, whereby if not by then, then soon! just don't go tugging on the seed coat or doing too much or any digging around the potential 'root protrusion zone' - damage can be done and you'll wish you had not. at LEAST don't worry until the 5-day mark. It's a 1911, sure to be worth it. eg

Some have delayed water penetration by a day or so. I cant speak to the 1911 specifically but I hope thats the case for your seed. Just for fun I will mention that some extremely odd ones can hold out for two weeks but its so rare its just a fluke its not a sensible reason for hope.

I don't get worried about a seed until after 96 hr with the baggie method.

It has been 90 hrs as of now! I took a peek but nothing! Gave a tiny squeeze & it still is ok i think ! I will see tomorrow !

Another grower told me they started 4 --1911s & 1 didn't make it & the other 3 took like 4 days ! Hopefully tomorrow !!

A little peroxide with water and I soak em 6-8 hours and they always pop. It seems that the only thing I do every year that never gives me a problem is starting seed, after that look out.

Tough break. Not every seed sprouts and that is the simple truth. I hope that whatever your back-ups are set a new personal best for you this year.

Mine one germinated after 36 hrs wich is a bit longer than mine ones usally take, but my 1756 is now 12 Days in the soil and nothing it is always a Risk don't give up good luck to you for this season.

I soak white seeds for 6 to 8 hrs then in the baggie at 85
