            | Buddy G | Greene County, Pa. | After Filing my seed I went and put it in a bowl of warm water and stuck it near my fireplace.(that was 10 min. ago) But the seed floats.. Do they all float or is this a bad seed? It looks like a very healthy seed. Dark in color.I have my pot in the germination box that i built warming up. I am getting too anxious.. I want to try filing since I've never done it..ThanksBuddy

            | steelydave | Webster, NY | If some sink, I've never seen it. Soak for about an hour. Then put it in a damp paper towel and put the paper towel in a zip lock baggie. Give it a little bottom heat. Within 3 or 4 days you should have germination. Watch out with the bottom heat. Too much will roast the seeds and you'll get nothing. Good Luck

            | huffspumpkins | canal winchester ohio | my seed starting is pretty basic. First I file the edges of the seeds down, soak in a mild solution of seaweed/fish mixture for a couple of hours. Then I place it on a damp paper towel , place that in a glad baggie. And for a heat source I take plastic juice bottles & fill them with hot water & then put them in a ice chest & place the seeds in there. I change the water twice a day & they usually germinate in 18-24 hours............Paul | 1/6/2003 4:41:23 PM |
