Hello. Today my 1064 Needham sprouted, the last of my 4 seeds for this year, all of which germinated. I also had 100% germination last year. I didn't keep track of the temps last year or do anything special other than filing and soaking, but this year I made sure to record everything. First I filed the seeds, then I soaked them in 15-30-15 or fish/seaweed for 24 hrs. After that I planted them pointed end down (except the 611 Hester) is a 6" peat pot filled 3/4 with pro mix. I used a heating pad set on high and a lamp overhead. The temperatures were a consistant 85 degrees. By doing this I had a 1998 seed germinate on 3 days, a 1999 seed germinate in under 24 hrs, and 2 2000 seeds germinate in 2 days. I also played a lot of System of a Down and Linkin Park, but that wasn't for the plants. Tom

I have a starting method that gives me exellent results. First select your biggest, hardest seeds. File the edges and soak overnight. Take two sheets of paper towel and wet, put your seeds between the sheets and slide the whole thing into a zip-lock bag. Put the bag on to of your cable tv box (assuming you have one, most people do). In 1-1/2 to 2 days you should have root growth. Then plant the seeds in large peat pots tip down and water well.
