Curiousity has taken over.
Do you warm the dirt you set your seeds into, or is it just at room temp.????

Warm dirt. Nearly perfect germination rate since I started warming my dirt first. By the way, the 1097 is up. Now if the snow would melt, I could put it in the patch. (It's okay the greenhouse is up and it is warm! LOL!) Thanks again Eddy

I use room temperature, profesional planting mix. I soak it with warm water (warm to the touch). Then keep the air temp around 80F. It worked great this year. I started mine on April 22nd and some now have 2 true leaves(8 days).

I use a seedling heat mat thing . . . keeps it around 80 degrees.

I would be careful about warming in the microwave. You could nuke some of the helpful organisms. The oven may be a better idea.

Just a comment here that I agree with warming up the dirt but I am only doing it about an hour before putting the seed into it because I don't want to promote any rot or disease from the warm temps too soon.
We'll see!
