            | Engel's Great Pumpkins and Carvings | Menomonie, WI ([email protected]) | I keep seeing people with seeds soaking in Peroxide in little cups. I hope you guys are diluting this 10:1. Peroxide at 3% is to strong. | 4/25/2005 9:38:26 AM |

            | Mr. Orange | Hilpoltstein, Bavaria, Germany | I've used 3% H2O2 straight out of the bottle for three years now and always got 100% germination.
Now I bought a bottle of 30% H2O2 because it's a lot cheaper if you dilute it down to 3% yourself. However, I wouldn't use the 30% H2O2 right away... :-)

            | CliffWarren | Pocatello ([email protected]) | Why do people do use this? What does it actually do?I'm not trying to ask a sarcastic question, just really
 want to know... why?

            | Mr. Orange | Hilpoltstein, Bavaria, Germany | It disinfects the seed, kills fungal spores, etc. I don't like to use fungicide on the seed and so this is the (next) best thing. The seed (embryo) also seems to profit from the additional Oxygen.

            | Alexsdad | Garden State Pumpkins | I sorta agree if you file and soak and find your Cotes a little bit crispy/wispy around the edges could be you went to far with the file or soaked a little long in to strong of a solution...gotta be kind to this little guys cause they are the "plant food" until roots are developed and working. | 4/25/2005 7:14:39 PM |

            | Tremor | [email protected] | Straight up right out of the very diluted bottle from the local CVS. Oxygenates the soaking solution. 3% is mostly water as it is. I know that some growers further dilute it 50/50 with water or 1.5% which is very weak. | 4/25/2005 7:16:34 PM |

            | Dakota Gary | Sioux Falls, SD [email protected] | i filed and soaked in 3%. ..3 for 4 after two days at 85still waiting for the 4th

            | BenDB | Key West, FL | well considering 11 of the 12 seeds I started saturday, have come up today, 3 days later, I will continue to use 3%. | 4/27/2005 1:51:14 AM |

            | Wyecomber | Canada | I use 50/50 with a few drops of seaweed extract all seeds kept at 80-85 16-20 hours later they are cracking open at which time they go into the soil and are up a day or 2 later
