I thought my soil test was strange last year when pH came back really high, even. above 7 in some places! (I hadn't limed in several years) I feel almost relieved to see that yours has gone down. That is what i feel should happen in CT with our climate and soil types! I was starting to get paranoid wondering if Bill Gates's cloud seeding with Calcium carbonate was causing that scenario in my soil. LOL. https://www.science.org/content/article/geoengineers-inch-closer-sun-dimming-balloon-test

Try to find dolomite pelletized lime, that will bring your magnesium up as you adjust your pH.

Hi, Nick. Was gonna ask: 'Any particular reason why you might ever wanna go light on phosphorous? I'm always self-convinced that P is needed ever more to establish flowering and fruiting and therefore continuing to keep fruits intact/reduce or eliminate aborts;' But decided not to, lol. Every soil report and its recs are different; Additionally, I was like 'Uh, yeah,' when I found out that growing certain crops and removing that harvest can be used to lower elements in the soil that are in need of being reduced. 'Ah-ha' moments, all 'round. I need a nap, now. Good luck! eric g

Fattires: I asked Matt and he said the same thing so that's the plan. I guess the calcium carbonate gets "spent" when it does its job neutralizing PH while the magnesium carbonate is able to stick around and be more plant available.

pumpkinpal2: As far as I understand, P has a tendency of building up and sticking around in the soil which can throw off nutrient ratios. It is also not good for local freshwater ecosystems since it is the limiting nutrient for algae growth.

big moon: I knew we had acidic soil but I didn't realize just how fast it can eat lime. I was talking to Hayden and he said he's had the exact same experience.
