That fruit was about the size of a softball. The teeth that were chewing on it were huge!

I have had a raccoon and a skunk do something similar. That looks more like racoon. I used chicken wire, rebar, shade netting, and PVC pipe and made a mini hoop house over the pumpkin.

Yeah looks like about the size of a raccoon bite. It probably lost interest after figuring out there was no carmel inside.

I’ve had luck getting raccoons and skunks with one of those haveaheart traps. I use bacon or tuna.
