I suppose you could use cans or plastic bottles or anything around each one. I used that Slug-B-Gone stuff once and never will again;
A soon as one tasted of it, it stopped and never moved again; I dunno how long before it went away if ever butt now I live with them
and they don't do enough harm, if any, to warrant my angst. This is a gray area because I use Imidacloprid and upon seeing
what it does to an insect, I hate to use that as well. To each their own. eg

Well, bees will easily travel a half mile per day, slugs travel about half the garden... the radius of the damage is the issue. Conventional vs nuclear... But yeah I dont coexist with the moles and slugs... The rabbits and deer, I tolerate.

To each their own, I guess.

I murder worms when digging and bugs on my windshield.
...I'm not a very good Tibetan monk!

I'll consider the plastic bottle idea.

Make sure it's diet, lol.
If utilized, I'd say to cut the 2-liter ba-bas so they could be twisted down edgewise into the soft soil and several bamboo stakes around each would hold them in place - unless it's windy. eg

If so, cut off the bottom squarely and poke a sharpened bamboo stake literally down through the handle, with the possibility of the stake being fully-within that handle or alternately using that area of the jug for strength upon setting; In more words, in one case, you wouldn't be able to put your hand through the handle anymore. A small hole could be into the cap for venting or a fine cloth/rubber band. Little dirt around the bottom edges...
HS. I just realized that handle pertains to HAND.
WELL, I have determined that HAND stands for 'Have A Nice Day', soooo...OK.
HAND,lol! eric g

Hand to u too! Yeah always leave the cap off is what I've learned... Overall, humidity and temps will stay in a more favorable range.
