Very interesting Matt.

I use electric irrigation solenoid valves, connected to a smart wifi plug, for everything, for irrigation, for nebulisation, to clean the irrigation and nebulisation pipes every certain hours and throw the hot water from the pipes. The fans also work with wifi smart plugs. Until now I did everything with solar panels, a wifi router with a mobile phone card, and everything works wonderfully. You can water from work, you can see with the surveillance cameras how the patch is, you can see the ambient and soil temperatures and humidity. If you are retired, or you have the plants close to home or work there is no problem, but if you have the plants 15 miles from home, all this is necessary.

Rmen- Yes the wifi plugs are another option as well. The control you provided a link for may be expensive due to the new technology, but at least the technology currently exists so hopefully with time it will become less expensive.
