WOW John so nice and a small vine to boot. Does that 1904 generally throw orange fruit? Guessing it does if you grew it.

It does, this was a very special plant that was very dwarf with small leaves. THe pumpkin was only set 7.5 feet from the crown. It was a surprise at the scales too! It weighed 1306 pounds.

The S bend started to happen once the pumpkin started to grow. I never pre make any curves in my vines. Over the years I have had bad luck with the young pumpkins aborting after all that work bending the main. This 1904 was deadheaded at the pumpkin.
