Highly recommended to use a bore light ( for checking a rifle bore ) or something similar to look inside. It doesn't look like a finger will fit in there to check to make sure its dry.

It goes in a long ways! I'm hoping it's just the hollow of the stem. It's still growing so that's a good sign. I like the idea of the bore light to have a look. So what would I do if it's not dry?
