I can assure you they are real since I grew most of them, and the ones I didn't grow, I gave them the seeds they are growing.

The top left picture is a Giant Amaranth (Amaranthus australis) crossed with a Smooth pigweed (Amaranthus hybridus ). It always produces sterile plants and almost always red flowers. The picture of the stalk below it on the left in the middle is a Giant Amaranth crossed with a tidal marsh amaranth (Amaranthus cannabinus) They are very similar plants and are fully fertile, but quicker growing. The bottom left plant is a pure Giant Amaranth in my garden. The middle right picture is from Sweden of Bo Persson's 30 foot Giant Amaranth in 2012. I sent him the seeds he used to produce that plant. For some reason, Guinness Records did not accept his record attempt and Jesse Eldrid of NY still has the world record at 27'10" in 2007. Jesse's record broke my GWR the same year at 23'2". Dave Brenner (curator of Amaranth at USDA in Iowa) had the record before me at 15'1" in 2005 (which was also a Giant Amaranth). That is the original source all the giant amaranth seed out there in the growing community.

The bottom right picture is me checking on one of my amaranth. That was early in the season and wasn't full height. In 2021 I had a giant amaranth at 26'1", but I was still a bit short of regaining the world record.

I have been growing giant amaranth since 2006. If you have any questions then just ask.
