Whichever way you get wind from if you can sort of determine that, I would get a LOAD of bamboo stakes, 3 feet long each and put one next to as many of the larger leaves as possible or every time the wind picks up, you'll have those splits as in previous pictures due to 'torsional' twisting of the vines through the leaves - and, possibly, lack of water. You've heard the expression 'I won't twist your arm about it, but...' Also, there's a lot of bare dirt nearer the camera that could be used to bury the vines much better with/**at more points**, shovelfuls at a time, also helping to stabilize the plant and the exposed dirt underneath will still be there, anyway. Lastly (no rotten tomatoes, yet?)
Schweeuwww...dodge, lol---I suggest getting a Whizzer sprinkler/3-arm adjustable or anything BUT hand watering at this point that you can water this bundle of joy with at the twist of a knob or a timer. All the roots developing from the vine burying and the need therein of the pumpkin...do it slowly/**sprinkler first** to avoid overWHELMING a single pumpkin, though...eg...Congratulations on yer pollination! eric g
