Travis isnt known for evenly shaped pumpkins. I think extra blobby might be an acceptable part of the equation for going big?

Not sure. I suspect the cooler wet weather hasn't helped; plants clearly aren't in high gear despite being pretty good sized.

It might have been fine to keep. I do think seeds in the blossom is bad but I'm not getting onboard the stigma symmetry thing, folks can disagree, but to me its like saying if your wife has a bad hair day you ought to divorce her? I'll go out on another limb and say slow growth is perfectly ok as long as its only related to the weather.

I am not convinced this one had any seeds that weren't in the blossom.

When you have basically one shot to grow a big one, why not wait for a better shaped blossom? Especially if it is super early.

Unless... the better shaped ones... are better shaped... because they are smaller!
