However the wind is in your area, I'd consider a great deal of bamboo staking against the direction of the wind in general, since sandy soil like that probably has less integrity than a loam, for instance. Sand is only 1"deep just covering the weed barrier so the vines dont get to hot. Once the sidevines hit three feet the are in direct contact with the soil, been doing this for a few years now i hate weeds lol
