Yes, that is Kirk Mombert in the middle of my loading crew! Kirk won Half Moon Bay a couple times back in the 1980’s. He lives about 6 miles from my house. I met him at Half Moon Bay my first time there in 2002. The very first seed I ever bought at an auction was a 1005 Mombert back in probably 2003. It is funny how giant pumpkin growing can come full circle sometimes.

By the way, Kirk looks great. He is strong as an ox & is happily growing a couple 500ish pounders each year for his grandkids these days. He stops by my patch from time-to-time to check in on me and ask me things like, “What is this Mychorrizae stuff.”

WOW Kirk Mombert so great to see he is still around. One of the best growers ever and he definitely knew his orange. The 567 Mombert seed was a classic.
