Here's the unofficial tally of the top 15. There were a lot of entries this year and it was good to see so many growers from all over the Northwest. It was nice to get to meet Alun Jones there as well as he begins his cross country pumpkin weighoff tour.
1 Jake VanKooten 958 New Fair record 2 Jim Sherwood 903 3 Dean Biss 803 4 Joel Holland 791 (Joel also brought an 1100+ exh that split. 5 F. Falladares 709 6 Geneva Emmons 660 7 Chris Michalec 589 8 Stan Pugh 573 9 J. Mettler 539 10 Rock Rivard 535 11 Lincoln Mettler 527 12 G. Thomson 464 13 Brad Perham 459 14 W. Perham 386 15 Kayla Gilbertson 363
Juniors
1 Molly Michalec 403 2 D. Pavova 360 3 D. Lyon 321
There were a couple other split pumpkins, unfortunately I did not get the weights recorded on them. I hope someone with more complete records will post them for us. The top three fruit represented British Columbia, Oregon, and Washington so the entire region was well represented. A great event to start our Northwest weighoff season. Pleas forgive any incomplete names or misspellings as I copied from the board.
