It's never to early to start thinking about next year.
I've talked to Mike Frantz and I offered to take over the pumpkin and squash growing contests for next year. I will work on details over the next few months but what I really need now is some input on possible seed stock for the competition. If you are willing to donate 100 seeds from your pumpkin (or squash) to this cause please post it here. Let us know anything that would be of interest about your pumpkin such as the color and the cross etc.
We will also need to start putting together a pool of prizes as well so please dig through your collection and see if you have anything to offer. Please limit donations to what you already have instead of seeds from future pumpkins.
Thanks in advance for your input.

I can send 100 seeds from my biggest pumpkin. It weighed 142 pounds the cross is 685 girgus (974 eaton X 723 bobier) X 735 pukos (846 calai X Self). The pumpkin was a great orange color, had a lot of cantalouping and the stem end was pure green.
I could give a 746 larue for the prizes.
If you need any help puting the contest together let me know. I only have 4 hours of school per day.
Good Luck, Mikkal

I can probably spare 100 seeds from one of my various crosses.

I could donate 100 seeds from my 534 Reiss 03 (845 Bobier 00 X 712 Kuhn 00). It had a yellow to cream color until two weeks before the contest. By then it turned green. But its offsprings should be pumpkins because the 712 Kuhn showed no signs of green at all.... For pollination both the male and female flowers were covered with bags the night before they opened and the female was covered again after hand pollination. I would be delighted to help in the contest by donating the seeds! Best wishes, Martin

I have a nice cross going that I'd like to supply seeds from: (f) Beach Cross #3 (845 Bobier x 723 Bobier) x (m)683 Beachy (845 Bobier x 935 Lloyd). This cross is loaded with 935 Lloyd genes. The fruit is white and is currently about 600 lbs...projecting to be around 900 lbs. The plant is great and has been trouble free.
