Did anyone happen to see how many times the 2006 World Record fell this year? I went to pumpkinnook.com. It's crazy.

They have 7 pumpkins listed as going heavier than 1502, with one going 1662 in Iowa. I also heard that there was one over 1600 in Kentucky, but had some rot, so it was DQ'd. Not sure if there's any truth to it. Must have been a great year to grow a giant pumpkin.

technically i believe g is right. bill rodonis broke it 1st then joe set the new record. all the others that broke the 1502 weight where weighed the next week so they did not break the new record set by joe.

Or is he technically correct? He asked how many times the 2006 record (1502) has been broken. So is it 2 or 7? I say technically the 2006 record has been beat 7 times, although THE record has only been broken twice.... :)
So I say 7 :)

But... If Ktky had rot shouldn't it only be 2 or 6 times? Or did you count that and it would be 8 or 7 or 6 or 2? I agree with Chris

Well...its the off-season for me so let the games begin ! I THINK that a record can only fall once. After the first "fall", its no longer the record. And yes, I understood what the original post probably meant and just felt I had to stir. I think Rodonis deserves to be recognized as a former WR holder ! (thats what makes this hobby fun !)

The pkn in Ky. weighed 1394 so it did not break the '06 record, it would have been close if we would have held our weighoff a week earlier!!!!!!!!! Wait till next year. "G" great "stir" on yer part!!! LOL I think MAJOR CONGRATS go out to all who broke the 1.5K mark, and I mean MAJOR!!!!!!!!!! This is what makes this fun!!! Peace, Wayne

At Topsfield, Bill's name was light up in lights on the wall with the words "World Record" with it. It may have only lasted for 25 minutes until Joe's monster was weighed but up here, in this neck of the woods, he will always be considered a WR holder. Another piece of "Johnny cake", Bill?

thats correct, i think Bill knew as did many that it would not last very long with that big Jutras pumpkin waiting to be weighed. Glenn
