We will be measuring LongGourds this year, anything special needed to be done, just the longest wins? Can they be of anything gourdish and long...lol As you can tell Im not up on my gourds very well....Next year....I hear of someone in Colorado thats surpassed 100" already....Were setting a State Record here....

There is a special way of measuring these. You lay it on a flat surface. Curve doesn't get measured.

wiz if you go to the GPC long gourd link it tells you the gourd has to be placed on a board the lenth of the fruit and only a metal tape can be used . the stem base is the starting point with blossom being the end with a strate line between see gpc rules
