Hello - I was wondering if any one could fill me on on the dates/locations of any weigh offs here in the northwest. I searched for the Canby, Or but couldn't find any info on the web. There have to be a couple in Washington too.
I'd like to put this info on the calendar. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ceis

Details for the PNWGPG weighoffs are still being worked out, but it looks like there will be three this October with one in the Portland area and two others in Western Washington. We'll have more on these later.

Thanks Tiller. Being a rookie I don't think I will have anything really big to take to the event. (still fun to hope and dream though) I just want to go and see 'what happens' and the size of the giants that everyone brings. It would be great to meet up with other growers and hear (& tell) some stories. Please keep me posted on the details if at all possible. Thanks - Ceis

Ceis,
You're missing the point! No matter how big it is (or isn't) take it into the weigh-off. It will still be a personal best for you,and in the records, and you'll be just as proud as the grower of a 1000'er! There's no shame in this hobby, rule #1 is to ENJOY!

We would love to see you at the Puyallup Fair on Friday, September 6th. It is the first weigh-off in the Pacific Northwest. It is open to all growers from any state. In the past, we have had growers from Oregon bring their fruit up. Last year, Geneva Emmons set a Fair record with her 922.5!

Thanks Stan - That is the wife's B-day weekend, so we'll have to see if we can make it. As for bringing a pumpkin - I have a couple good candidates on the vine now. Will have to re-evaluate when we get closer to the event.(then there's the transportation issue) Regardless, the Fair sounds like a great time. - Ceis
