Took the pumpkins down Thursday, and went to the fair today to check the results. Pumpkins 562 Brian Christensen 1101 Nortrup x 1233 Reiss 559.5 Brandi Christensen 504 Christensen x 1233 Reiss My daughter is really ticked at me for this beat her by a whole 2.5 pounds. 510 Cliff Warren (DMG) 981 Zunino X ?? 380 Harold Jorgensen 350 Stenberg 330 Steve Hatton 250 Susan Wallentine
Squash 262 Blake Christensen 848 MacKenzie x self
Doesn't sound like much but it is probably the heaviest overall average that we have had. Still small time with need of several improvements. But the big pumpkins are still whats stops people and make them stare.

Nice job Brian! we should hook up next season at your local weigh off its a lot closer than Canby and leaves the credibility over here, closer to our climate/season...

Thanks, just for FYI, my 510 is 981 Zunino X 269 Reiss (My sister's plant) I can't remember the 269 background, but it is solid orange and is listed on my site:
http://cliffwarren.byethost5.com/
My sister's plant was a good agressive grower, so it might be an interesting orange cross. The "DMG" was due to a blossom end split.
