We had our weigh off today, in P.E.I. Canada ,under heavy rain, good crowd considering conditions. Results are: Pumpkins: 1st. 936.5 lbs William VanSchuppen 2nd 891.5 " Cliff Picketts 3rd. 880 " Floyd Hardy 4th 779.5 " Allen Aten 5th 772.5 " Charles Aten 6th. 722 " Raymond Nicholson 7th. 631.5 " Mark Ashley 8th. 629 " Rory Costain 9th. 559 " Gordon Aten 10th. 512 " Jamie Vessy 12th. 454.5 " Donna Norcott 13th 392 " Dr. Jim Murphy 14th 319.5 " walter Andrews 15th 282 " Riley Hart 16th 269 " Trent Coles 16th 232.5 " Brian Thompson 17th 181 " Marvin Hustler 18th 174 " Megan Kelly 19th ?? I was at the Silver Bell weigh off and I don't see any mention of the pumpkin that weighed in at 1011 pounds. I know it was damaged (split on the blossom side) but it was the only one over a thousand pounds. I think it should at least receive honorable mention. I also understand that the grower who grew the 1011 supplied the seed for Mr. VanSchuppen. I didn't catch his name but as a having an interest in growing Big Pumpkins I would love to pick his brain. So if anyone knows who he is please let me know.
