The Sonoma County Harvest Fair has decided to accept day of event entries for their weigh-off on October 2 in Santa Rosa. It is the day after Elk Grove, so since you'll be loaded up anyway, come on over to Santa Rosa and be part of the weighoff! They will be accepting previously weighed pumpkins. This is the first year that they have accepted pumpkins grown outside of Sonoma County and have kicked up their prize money to $2000. Let's get as many pumpkins there as possible so they feel it is a worthwhile endeavor and will continue doing it in the future. E-mail me if you'd like more info on the weighoff.

Ken and anyone else who is interested in helping us develop another quality weighoff in Northern California...being what you have to the Sonoma county Harvest Fair!!! There are only 15 entries pre-registered. If there aren't quite a few more there for the weigh-off, then the board of directors for the fair might lose interest in this project. As northern California growers, we need to put on a good show! And yes, Ken I'd the guy who puts on the Vineman. I hope to see you on Sunday. -Russ Pugh

That should read "bring what you have"...not "being what you have."
