Last year there were 12 at 7+ lbs this year 28 7+ lb tomatoes! (not including Dan's in order to make an fair comparison)
And there may be more out there still.

Not so much at 40 deg latitudes and below, we had a rough year. Congratulations to all growers who did well! Thanks for your info as always Ketchup.

I hear you. I think Alaska or Canada would be a great place to grow them but they can be grown as a spring/fall crop and just skip the hottest part of the year?? Start seeds early or start seeds late...
Southern growers could start in February or March and try for a May/June pollination? Or start in June and try for a late summer pollimation? Even where I am at, with comparatively mild and dry summers, there's set window(s) of opportunity to get better results.

It’s all just crazy at this point. I even heard of a certain grower that grew a certain sized tomato, that’s sitting in certain position in a contest that may lead to that grower winning a certain trophy. Oh baby..big weekend coming up. Good luck y’all! sLamMErS for everyone!!!
