Hello Everybody,
I'm Doing a lot of research on tomatoes.
Just a couple of curiosities. Isn't the Big Marley and the Slammer the same tomato?
Also, What happened to the Big Wixom? Is still being grown by anybody?

Wixom MI.

The big Marley and the slammer are similar being that they are both a cross of a bigzac and a Domingo, but they were crossed with different tomatoes and the crosses were made about 4 years apart. And I haven't heard anyone growing the big wixom not that it can't grow I big tomato like the others, but unless someone grows an 8 pound tomato from it, know one will try it.
It is like the Megadom. No one was trying it until Steve stickler grew an 8 pounder with it and Mr young grew a giant single flower tomato with it. So now more and more people are giving it a try now !

Thanks for the Explanation. About the MegaDom....If I can find a way to pollinate with success the multi-blooms on the Megadom I will grow a big one. I had clusters of 10 to 15 flowers fused together that just didn't make it. There has to be a way to properly pollinate them. I think that's the missing piece for many people. (How to successfully pollinate big clusters) On a different note, if you still have seeds for the Wixom I would like to buy a couple of them. The genetics of this tomato is very impressive. Your 5.95 Domingo crossed with Your Megazac (Megamarv 5.51 x 8.41 MacCoy). Thanks again for the explanation, Tony

Good Luck. The bulk of genetics chart took me over 6 months and thousands of hours. I also dumped the text version in a previous post that has a few tomatoes that are not on the chart that the info is missing for.
