I was planning on planting around the 15 but the forcast shows a quick cold front moving through. Calling for 34 on Friday night 36 saturday. It will be in the 80 day and 50 night for the rest of the time. If I plant does the blast of cold stunt the growth of tomatos?

It inhibits nutrient uptake. The humidity will also determine the uptake of some minerals? Cold plus humid... might give you a different nutrient hinderance than cold and dry? I think the cold or humidity is one factor that can help fuse the buds into a mega bloom. In warm and dry weather, I only get doubles or maybe a triple if lucky.

I wouldnt go below 38. 40's should be ok. Plants that are short on nutrients will suffer a lot more thsn those which have some reserves.

You should be fine, cold doesn't hurt them,I've had them survive 26 degrees and still grow well,a lot depends on what's in your soil.

In my experience, temperatures below 45 stunt the growth and tomato plants are just sitting in the soil, exposed to pests a and diseases. It is better to wait for warmer weather. Another alternative is to cover the plants with buckets overnight in order to avoid temperature drop during night. I found this tip here: https://gardeningtheme.com/theme/growing-tomatoes-productively and it works for me.
