roughly how wide do the stems get on the first couple feet of the plant? How tall do they grow before you top them and let the tomato grow? Going to plan out some supports using all the spare electrical conduit I have laying around.

I've had them as big as 2-1/4".

Anywhere from 1-1/2" on up, non of the jumbo clips are big enough even for the smallest plants.
