I was looking through my books and found one I had read two times but not recently. I also come back to some topics in the book. I don't totally agree with everything in the book such as target values for nutrients and balancing your soil. But there is so much more in this book. I think a few of you might have read it. No, its not something I wrote. It might be too late to read it this season but when winter comes it will be a great read for you. The book is about growing nutritious food but applies to what we are doing as well. The name of the book is"The Intelligent Gardener" and it is written by Steve Solomon. It was written in 2013 in it's 5th edition.

I can second that book; it’s a cracker!

If you grow under a poly tunnel i am also a big fan of Andrew Mefferd’s The Greenhouse and Hoophouse Grower's Handbook. Covers commercial growing tomato techniques rather than specifically giant - but lots of food for thought here too from CO2, power venting, and temperature steering.
