Bnot said the squash board had more activity than tomatoes so it's time to getting everyone talking.

Include your number of plants of each seed and a grand total of plants you plan on growing.

Also mention if you want to/plan on participating in the team challenge.

I am waiting for some seeds from auction and whatever Rebel sends me before posting a list. 14 plants is my max.

I'm planning 2 Big Wixom, 2 - 6.23 Konieczny, and 3 undecided, for a total of 7. I also just put 2 Big Wixom in dirt today for an indoor attempt, I know, it's a little late, but better than never. Wonder what the wife will think when she realizes there's a tomato plant in the dinning room?

I'm up for the team challenge, but growing a small number of plants does worry me a little! I grew 7 last year, but I'm thinking more space per plant - but that would mean less plants.

I have own saved seed in hand from domingo (5.57, off 5.95), big zac (6.02), delicious (6.11) and a few crosses available to choose from, but line up isn't decided as yet. Growing between 4 and 7 plants depending on where I land up on spacing decisions over next few months.

I am not sure yet about next year. I am still trying to figure out the beach sand. I would think that most of my plants will be descendant from the best of previous years. There will be a few exceptions, I received a package from Dale Thurber last year. I am thinking that I should try his best(i will have to look to see variety) even though the best did not come from a pampered environment. I am not sure how many plants. Good soil depth is a a limiting factor for me right now. I have at my disposal about 4000 cu ft of good soil. I want to get back to growing pumpkins. How much of the soil I have goes to pumpkins and how much to tomatoes? I have space..just not soil.

As far as team challenge..undecided. I would be an A grower...last year I barely made B rank. I think I would be a negative to any team.

I've got Wixom's seeds, Porkchop and Rebel are sending me seeds. Starting to get excited about next year already.

And I really liked the 4.28 of Rebel's last year. Going to grow a bunch off my tomatoes from that one.

I'll do 40 - 45 plants this year.

Good seeds. No problem. They will only grow to their potential if your soil is in good shape. Focus more on your soil. Good drainage, quality compost. Combined with good seed will equal big results. If you don’t do the work on your soil your good seed will go to waste.

Udo Karkos

Bonn, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany

No winter growing for me.
It´s a challenge to provide enough light for seedlings.
These are planed strains/seeds:
4.23 Jany 2014 (German record 2014)Big Zac
5.95 Konieczny 2016 Domingo
6.23 Koniezcny 2016 Mega Zac
5.63 Karkos 2016 (German record 2016)Big Zac
6.22 Karkos 2018 (German record 2018)Big Zac
5.11 Karkos 2018 Delicious
4.28 Spaziani 2019 Big Marley
4.23 Karkos 2019 Big Marley

I will try to start early again to give side shots for clones to more growers this year.
I still think about a clone competition 2020.

would like to get a second chance for a better place in team competition (should be hard to get a worse place though ;-D )
No WR seeds in my stock (I haven´t asked for some)
According to my bad results in 2019 I should better improve plant care but seed stock.

I may think about what to grow after I get another inch of chicken manure spread. Right now... My soil is getting destroyed by heavy rain.

This would be my official rookie season. I have dabbled in it the last two years, but it amounted to a "September callup." (Baseball reference.) Currently thinking about 14 plants. Have seeds from Chris Konieczny, Cindy Tobeck, and another grower will be sending seeds I think. Most of my plants will be for large fruit, but a couple I will grow just to see how tall I can get the plants to grow. I don't think I'll be on any team, staying in the minors, unless each team is forced to carry a rookie.
