Thanks Zeke, I will be the first to sign up

Some of the growers have already started. I start my first round in 8 days. My second round will start at about the end of December. Unless you have a way to keep the grow area about 80 degrees, I would not suggest waiting that long.

I test germinated tomatoes that I grew this year on October 14th. Went pretty good, 62/65. I'll choose from them. Already know which one's, just not sure how many. Porkchops 5.29; Lambchops 5.71; Garden Rebels 4.28 and Jane & Phil Hunt's 4.32

cool....thanks John, i am now worried, not adversely though, i love it. Your entry raises the competition to a whole new level. If i was to bet...I think John might grow the first 4 pound winter tomato. Good luck, will be interested how it goes for you.

If you enough heat and light strength...you could start Jan 1st and have a tomato by the first day of spring. I did that last year just to show it could be done. It keeps getting more difficult the later you start between now and Jan 1. I have my first round started, I think I will start my second within a week. Need to give myself a bit of cushion in the new grow environment.
