I have noticed that different growers perfer different tomato verities and im just trying ti see if this is possibly due to soil PH soil structure like sandy loam or clay baced soil etc....

I have a well drained 12" of sandy loam soil with a ph around 6.5 my best plants are the megazac and Domingo. I have a hard time with the big zac and no luck with the Delicious. I also don't have a problem with Ber.unless i get 2" or more of rain. My 12" of good soil sits on a concrete like clay Layer that wont let water through !

I am growing outside in 8 inches of sandy soil on top of pure sand. My Ph has consistently been in the low 7's. I have limited experience with growing Domingoes...only a few plants in the past few years with nothing really to speak of for results (2 1/2 pounds) In my soil Delicious and Big Zac were running very close, Delicious was the winner in 2016, Big Zac came out on top in 2017. The new crosses came out on top of either in both years. Wixom Slammer in 2016 and Megamutt D in 2017. I am wondering if it is hybrid vigor that is causing my success with the crosses. Still a few months for me to decide what varieties and how many to try this summer.
