How do I calculate the start date of giant tomato seeds for a weigh off in October? Thanks all

I think it would depend on which truss you want to set the weigh off tomato on. All the giant tomato seeds we are planting now are indeterminate. They will keep forming blossoms through out the summer unless you serious top the growth. For the McCoy method of pruning..i would say about early to mid June for October 1st truss tomato. For a higher set as championed by Porkchop and Dan Sutherland you would want to start earlier.

To get a tomato around oct 1 you should pollinate or set your tomato around aug 1-10
