Just got a few questions as this is my first time trying indoor giant tomatoes. Started my seeds Dec 22nd. Plants are roughly 6-7 inches tall and I have them in 1 gallon pots. Just regular light fert's and watering . when should I transplant my 4 Tomatoes to bigger say 5 gallon pots ( Big enough?) and when do they normally start to flower?
Thanks W

Indoor flowering rates will be different for all growers. The temperature of the grow area, the level of lighting, the percentage of red light spectrum, and the nutrient strength/ratio will all play a part in how quickly a plant will blossom. I tend to get open blossoms in 30-40 days. I have known other growers that have gone thru a whole winter and never had a blossom. As far as transplanting..I have never transplanted a winter tomato. Hopefully someone will chime in and give you some good information about when you need to move to a bigger container.

That's funny Bnot, I thought you were getting mega blossoms in two weeks and tomatoes in 4 the way your pumping them up. Lol

My plants have been having blossoms that are starting to form as early as 3 weeks, but they take a little over a week to open. My grow room stays about 85 degrees during day, 75 at night. I am running my lights 16 hours per day. On the hydro plants at about 3 weeks i switch to a nutrient solution that is much heavier with P and K. I have getting blossoms and getting them pollinated figured out. I just need to figure out how to get the sets to grow big.

I have mine in one gallon pots right now and they are about 10" tall and just starting to get buds on them now. My bacement is only 63° and my soil takes awhile to dry out. I will be transplanting mine into bigger pots very soon.like bnot was saying at 90° he can get his tomatoes from flower to red in 35-40 days last year at 63° mine took 70 days !!!
