i know everyone has a differant idea so what are some of your methods and your reasoning behind it. also will tomatoes do well in a patch prepared for pumpkins if i lower the ph a little.

Yes they do well in pumpkin soil..I think they like it less moisture than pumpkins...drier "in between times"...(at least in the soil up this way)

I prune off all the branches(suckers)on the plant. Then i like to set a tomato on the first set of flowers if possible.if that doesn't happen i will keep trying untill i get a tomato to set. As soon as i get a tomato to set i will then top off the plant about 3 leaves after the tomato. At this stage i will not let the plant grow any bigger. This will force all the plants energy to go to that tomato.this is what i do,but most growers like a bigger plant than i do.

Just a guess here, lower on plant makes him a butt-man (lower on plant), & just a guess P-chop sets higher on plant making him a (higher on plant) nipple-man? Like I said, just a guess? I like both!!! Peace, Wayne
