Hi, i am not far from transplanting my plants out, they are maybe around 8 to 10 inches tall.

As this is my first year having a go at these tomatoes, is there any tips or fertilizers you use to produce mega blooms?
Sorry if it is a basic question, i just haven't personally seen a mega bloom on a tomato plants before let alone trying to grow these giant tomatoes.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

Hi Bluesilver - I will start by saying I am a rookie grower myself so take anything I tell you with a grain of salt- From what I have read you can't do anything to ensure mega blooms - it is all about the seed genetics and a little luck - You can learn a lot just by going through this message board - You have to weed out a lot but there is a lot of good information buried in here - Also check out the link on the homepage under "clubs" then "GVGo 2014 newsletter volume 2 issue 5" read the interview with Dan MacCoy and Bill Foss's "how to" article - This is where I started and got a lot of good info - Bill and Dan are two of the best in the business - I also posted the link below

I have noticed that in a year where I plant out the tomatoes and it is followed by a month of great growing conditions and nice warm temperatures I have almost no megablooms. In a year that I plant them out and it's followed by a month of cold, wet, crappy weather I have lots of huge megablooms. What I take from that is don't pamper your plants for the first month after you plant them out. Maybe plant stress has something to do with it.

Cheers, some very good reading and info it that article.
Will have to keep a look out for those articles in future.
We have a slightly cooler growing climate here, so hopefully that might be a bonus also.
Cheers.
